was born in Nagasaki in 1954.Since 1988,he has run an atelier of”Kirie”a typical Japanese paper art,near Marugame,Kagawa Prefecture.He is very well known for his works and as an instructor of Kirie technique in Shikoku island.During his 12 years career,he participated in many exhibitions,including pictures for children.My Cat,My Pal and The Library Cat are his debut as an illustrator of picture books for children
